On behalf of the H-STAT ACEs Student Task Force, you are invited to an upcoming Journal Club with Dr. Stan Sonu. Dr. Sonu is trained in pediatrics and internal medicine, and is an expert on the relationship between adverse childhood experiences and health outcomes.
This journal club will be a great opportunity to speak directly with Dr. Sonu about his recent publication, “Adverse childhood experiences and the onset of chronic disease in young adulthood.” It is sure to be an interesting, dynamic conversation – we hope to see you there!

- A free Stop the Bleed training, to learn to stop life threatening bleeding and save lives

The ASK initiative in Atlanta is a collaboration between Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, the Children’s Injury Prevention Program, Grady Memorial Hospital, Morehouse School of Medicine and the Injury Prevention Research Center at Emory University, dedicated to addressing and preventing firearm injury for all ages in our Georgia communities.
The Aspiring Surgeons Program, Stand SAFE, Health Students Taking Action, and Emergency Medicine Interest Groups of Emory School of Medicine are honored to invite you to this event, one part of our 2019 initiative.
Join GSU’s chapter of H-STAT for a Cut Hypertension training! We’ll be teaching you how to screen for hypertension and provide resources for low-cost healthcare and support around Atlanta. Training will be conducted by Dr. Childs, the Cardiovascular Health Program Manager at DPH, and health professional students from Emory and Morehouse.
A light dinner will be provided.
