Special screening event for students interested in public health, public policy, and social justice- GEEARS: Georgia Early Education Alliance for Ready StudentsTruePani, and Voices for Georgia’s Children are excited to invite you to join us for a Film Screening and Conversation featuring Director Cedric Taylor: "Nor Any Drop to Drink."

 

The film details the events that led to the water crisis in Flint, Michigan and the subsequent implications for residents, including young children. During this event, we'll explore the impact of lead exposure in drinking water on maternal and child health. Members of the health, education, and early learning communities as well as other interested professionals are encouraged to join us for this important conversation.

 

A reception with drinks and food to follow at Tapa Tapa, immediately adjacent to the theater.

 

All participants must have a ticket to attend the event. You can purchase in advance (early bird tickets are $8, deadline is Friday 9/6) or at the door for $12. We’re offering a 50% discount for students – use the code STUDENT at checkout.

    In an effort to inform community members, we offer an advocacy training to educate attendees about resources to advocate for their health.

    -Who Medicaid protects

    -Economic benefits of Medicaid

    -Medicaid advocacy

    -Future directions for Medicaid
