Study Determines Whether Reading Doctors’ Notes Is Helpful

A new study, “Open Notes,” will follow doctors and patients at three medical centers to determine whether a patient’s access to his or her doctor’s notes can help increase communication and decrease errors.

Will this really be helpful to patients?  Will doctors spend more time answering needless questions that addressing errors?  Will doctors start censoring their notes?
