South Georgia Needs Funding for Trauma Care

Editiorial from the Valdosta Daily Times:

Thanks to the efforts of the General Assembly this year, voters will have the opportunity in November to vote on an initiative to raise funds for trauma care.

This issue is vitally important to the entire South Georgia region, as there are no recognized trauma care centers south of Macon. Although several hospitals in the region do treat trauma cases — they have no choice — none have the specialized training. None can offer the level of trauma care that hospitals in the Atlanta area can.
